Disneyworld recap!

Well kids, Disneyworld was all kinds of awesome.  You know what I noticed though? It's either parents with little kids ore really old people.  Like people in their 70's.  As three 20 something women we felt a little out of place haha.  Anyways we did all the Disney parks (Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot...am I forgetting any) and also a day at Universal Studios.  Hello Harry Potter! We all felt that Universal catered a little more to adults, as there were less cheesy shows and just in general it seemed "older."  There was this one ride at the Harry Potter park that was probably my favourite of all the parks; it was mostly a simulation one so it felt like you were playing quidditch, flying through the forbidden forest, etc...So cool! And they have the park set up like Hogsmeade, with all the stores: Olivander's, Honeydukes, Zonko's, Owl Post, etc...I tried a butterbeer and it was delicious! You could get it in slushy form or...just regualr liquid form I think.  We got slushy.  It tastes caramely, I guess would be the best way to describe it.  We rented a car for 2 days and for the first drove to Daytona Beach.  So much fun! I got a really painful sunburn though that made going on rides the next day a bit of a challenge.  I'm peeling now, it's really quite attractive.  Not really.  The second day we drove to Universal Studios.  We stayed at a Disney Resort so there was no shuttle service there and we were told a cab would be ridiculously expensive.  Guess what else there is in Orlando? A Coach outlet! Actually I had my eye on the Kate Spade outlet but it proved to not have very outlet-y prices.  As in everything was regularly priced but 30% off.  I don't know about you, but 30% off a 400$ bag is still too much money for me.  I found a bag at Coach that I really liked.  It was marked down to 169$ from almost 300$ something and there was an additional 30% off.  I ended up paying 125$.  That's more like it! Speaking of shopping, I picked up some great pieces at an outlet mall in New Hampshire, state of the no sales tax. There is an outlet mall not far from my friends house, and I snagged three pieces at the Banana Republic outlet for less than 70$! Is that a deal or what?! I've had my eye on a short-sleeved wrap top from there for ages and it is like 70$ alone! No thanks! I can see myself doing a lot of shopping at Banana Republic once I start work as a librarian.  And they even have petite sizes! Sadly I quite often have to hem petite pants as well, but at least I'm not wasting like two feet of fabric.

We flew into two nights ago and yesterday went to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, which I absolutely adore.  Now I'm staying at friend's place in New Hampshire until the 20th, when I meet my boyfriend in Ottawa.  I may go up to Montreal in a few days and stay there until the 20th instead...not quite sure yet.

 The guy they arrested was sitting DIRECTLY behind me! When we landed no less than 8 police officers got on board to take this guy off.  Seemed like overkill to me, but from what I know about the US your law enforcement guys don't mess around! Crazyness!

Christmas!

Christmas Break so far has been nice and relaxing, just the way it should be! I got many wonderful gifts for Christmas, such as:

I bought this cardigan from Plum in charcoal grey with money I got for Christmas

I also got a long-sleeved black shrug to wear with the dress I got for my friend's January wedding, and a black jewelled clutch, also to wear with the dress (all from Plum).

Yesterday Mom and I went out to see if we could score some more Christmas bargains, and we found some great things at Pier 1! I got this beautiful sparkly silver Eiffel Tower ornaments, a box of mini different coloured disco ball ornaments, a sparkly fleur de lys ornament, and napkins that say, "Peace, Love, Shoes." 

I also needed a strapless bra to wear under the dress for the wedding, so we went to the La Vie en Rose outlet.  Everything was buy one get one free! I found a great strapless bra as well as a sparkley black one.  I got panties to match the sparkly bra and a second pair, because they were free anyways.

I wanted new nail polish for the wedding too, so we went to a salon in the same mall as the outlet, and I got this gorgeous shimmery gunmetal grey OPI polish, as well as a travel-sized Aveda hand lotion and brown Cargo mascara.  The mascara was 25% off and everything in the salon was 15% off on top of any previous discounts.  Score!

Today I went shopping with a friend because she had gotten a gift card to the mall.  She got some great things, and I found a 10$ ivory coloured slouchy tank to wear under my grey Plum cardigan.  

And now I'm on a spending diet :P

Brun chocolat! Rien d'autre!

When I was studying in France I happened upon a small boutique fifteen minutes from my apartment, while showing a friend from Vancouver around (she was studying in Belgium).  There I stumbled upon a dress which became one of the most indulgent purchases I've ever made.  It just so happened I was on the hunt for a party dress.  You see, I'm graduating from university this coming May, and towards the end of the semester there will be a Grad Formal.  A university can do this kind of thing when its student population numbers just 2,000 total.   Back to the dress.  While trying it on I was discussing foot ware colours with Candace (in english) a man in the boutique, who spoke only French, asked what we were talking about, which is when his eyes got wide and he uttered my title, "chocolate brown! Nothing else!"  Between girls, this is not the season for chocolate brown.  I've been looking since I got home in May.  I even went downtown to Holt Renfrew (home of Luis Vuitton, Oscar de la Renta, etc...You get the idea) to find out my size in Christian Louboutin after I found a gorgeous pair of chocolate brown Louboutin heels on ebay.  Alas, the shoes on ebay were not my size.  Since then I've given up on finding shoes in stores.  I resorted to googling "chocolate brown heels" and found these on amazon.com (NB: I'm Canadian):

I wish the heel was higher on them, but I guess I can't be picky :( Well...that maybe be part of my problem.  I won't wear heels with straps around the ankle (they make petite women look even shorter by cutting the leg off at the ankle-thanks Stacey and Clinton! haha).
